Review Evinrude Johnson 65-75hp Cover Gasket (OSCG

By: on 18 November 2021
My head cover plate gasket arrived yesterday. Thanks so much!!! It's great to think that we can still get parts for these older motors. My '76 Seahorse 70 h.p.still runs well and has good compression on all 3 cylinders. It was completely rebuilt in 1994 and sat in a garage on a boat for 10 years because the old chap who owned it got crook then passed away.Since I bought his Yalta boat in 2004 it has only done less than 100 hrs.I put another cylinder head and cover plate on it a year ago and the cover plate gasket had a very slight leak in one small spot, hence my reason for ordering another gasket.I intend to put some Hylomar spray sealant on it this time and follow your instructions to re-torque it after the gasket "relaxes".Thank you again so much for your prompt service and advice!! Regards, Barry.
